The Perfect Pizza Dough

Ditch the frozen pizzas and make your own pizza base at home with this deliciously easy tutorial...


175ml Warm water
2 1/2 teaspoons Active dry yeast
1 teaspoon Sugar
A pinch of Salt
2 tablespoons Olive oil
255g All purpose flour


Stir the warm water, yeast and sugar together in a bowl. Leave to activate for 10 minutes (it should become foamy).

Stir in the oil and salt followed by 65g of flour at a time. Knead the dough until a ball can be formed. The dough should be sticky but able to be picked up as one piece. If the dough is too sticky, add 1 - 2 more tablespoons of flour at a time until it comes together.

Continue to knead the dough for 5 more minutes, place in a large greased bowl and cover with a tea towel. Leave to rise in a warm location for one hour or until doubled in size.

Preheat the oven to 230C, punch the dough down and knead a couple of times until it becomes smooth and firm. No you're ready to make pizza!
