Latin Name: Theobroma Cacao
Plant Family: Mallows
Other Names: Crushed Cacao Beans, Amelonado, Criollo, Nacional, Contamana and Curaray.
Description: These small pieces of crushed cacao beans will soon become an essential ingredient in your kitchen cupboard thanks to their morish, bitter, chocolatey flavour. Though small in size it’s believed that Cacao Nibs are loaded with nutrients which is why they’re often used as a healthy alternative to chocolate chips (and they’re low in sugar!)
