This savoury loaf is so easy to make it requires no rise time at all!


60ml Olive oil
1 Red onion
4 Garlic cloves
150g Spinach
Salt to taste
Pepper to taste
315g Plain flour
3 teaspoons Baking powder
1 tablespoon Sugar
125g Cheddar cheese
230ml Milk
2 Eggs


Preheat the oven to 180C and line a loaf tin with baking paper.

Over a medium heat, heat a tablespoon of olive oil and saute the onions and garlic. Season with salt and pepper.

Using a large mixing bowl, sift in the flour, baking powder, salt and sugar. Stir in the sauteed onions and garlic a long with the grated cheddar cheese.

In a jug, mix the eggs, milk and oil together, create a well in the middle of the mixing bowl and pour in the mixture.

Combine the mixture thoroughly, pour in to the prepared loaf tin and place in the oven for an hour or until golden brown.
