Vegan Doughnuts 🍩

You dough-nut want to miss this mouth-watering recipe!

50g Vegan margarine
120ml Soy milk
2 tablespoons Sunflower oil
250g Plain flour
50g Sugar
1 teaspoon Baking powder
1/2 teaspoon Salt

128g Icing sugar
3 tablespoons Soy milk or water
Pink colouring

Melt the butter over a low-medium heat, pour in the milk and oil and mix together. Remove from the heat.

In a separate bowl, combine the flour, the sugar, baking powder and salt using a fork. Form a well in the centre, pour in the butter mixture and gradually combine until a thick dough forms.

Using your hands, roll the dough into little flat balls and with your thumb, press a hole in the middle of each doughnut.

Heat some oil in a pan, it will be hot enough when a little bit of bread goes brown and floats to the top.

Gently lay the doughnuts in the oil, fry for 3-5 minutes on each side until golden brown. Place the doughnuts onto some kitchen paper to soak up any excess oil and leave to cool.

Mix the icing sugar and milk/water together, add colouring and mix, dip each doughnut into the icing, add sprinkles and top with a dried rose bud. Leave to set.
