DIY Resin Earrings

Make your own floral earrings at home with this easy project!

Ingredients

Jewellery resin
Resin hardener
Measuring jug
Glitter optional
Resin dye optional
Jewellery resin moulds
Gloves
Wooden stirring stick
Tweezers
Toothpick
Sand paper
Earring hooks & wires
Glue
Drinking straw

Instructions

The trick to preserving flowers in resin is to make sure they are completely dried first! (If there is any moisture at all in the flower, it will react with the resin and change colour).

Top Tip: Press flowers in a book with a heavy object on top if you want thinner flowers.

Mix equal amounts of resin and Hardener into a measuring cup, stir continuously for 2 minutes. (Add dye and glitter if using).

Pour a small amount of resin into the jewellery mould, place and arrange flowers on top and remove any bubbles with a toothpick.

Pour more of the mixture into the mould until you reach the top. Cover, and leave for 25 minutes then remove any bubbles that have risen to the surface by gently blowing over the piece through a straw. Cover and leave over night.

Remove from mould, sand the edges and drill a small hole at the top of the resin. Attach earring hooks and wire and use glue to secure.
